OHLGS – Friday January 19, 2018: The Head of the Local Government Service, Dr. Nana Ato Arthur met representatives of the Civil and Local Government Service Association of Ghana (CLOGSAG); and the Local Government Workers Union (LGWU) to reach a consensus on the selection of a local government worker to serve on the Local Government Service Council (LGSC). Present at the meeting were the Chief Director and other senior officers of the Office of the Head of Local Government Service (OHLGS).

The meeting agreed that a nominee would be presented on behalf of the two unions by Friday 26th January, 2018 for further deliberation. Dr. Arthur expressed satisfaction with the turn of events and advised the unions to forge closer collaboration to ensure representation of their members and for the good of the service.

The meeting was at the instance of the Head of Service to ensure that employees of the Local Government Service are adequately represented on its highest governing body, the Local Government Service Council.
