LGS MOURNS THE LATE KWAME OPPONG

Kumasi – Saturday August 3, 2019: Staff of the Local Government Service led by the Head of Service, Ing. Dr Nana Ato Arthur joined family, friends and well-wishers to pay their last respect to the former Chief Director of the Bono Regional Co-ordinating Council, Mr. Kwame Oppong at a burial and thanksgiving service held at Wadie Adumakase in the Ashanti Region.

The late Kwame Oppong joined the Civil Service of Ghana in 1989 as an Administrative Officer. His duty tour took him to several Assemblies including Sekyere East; Amansie East; Ahafo Ano North; Kwahu South and East Akim District Assemblies. He rose through the ranks to the grade of a Director. The late Kwame Oppong also served as Director of Administration at the OHLGS and the Regional Co-ordinating Director for the Central Region before being transferred to the Bono Region as Regional Co-ordinating Director.

Under Mr. Kwame Oppong’s leadership as Regional Co-ordinating Director, the Central Region emerged winners of the maiden Performance Awards held by the Local Government Service in 2016.
In his 30 years of service, he contributed immensely to provide leadership at the regional and district levels.

He would be remembered for his hard work, modest, affable respectful, approachable, punctuality and dedication to service.
