October 15 – 16, 2018: The Office of the Head of the Local Government Service (OHLGS) ended the series of nationwide sensitization workshops on Inter-Service and Sectoral Collaboration and Co-operation System (ISCCS) with visits to the Ashanti and Brong Ahafo Regions. The workshops targeted Heads of Regional Departments and Agencies, Non-Governmental Organisations and Civil Society Groups. In the Ashanti Region, the workshop was held at the Regional Co-ordinating Council; and the University of Ghana Distance Learning Centre, Sunyani in the Brong Ahafo Region. The workshops explored opportunities for deepening collaboration to ensure value-addition in service delivery.
The Ashanti Regional Minister, Hon. Simon Osei Mensah was elated about the programme and called on participants to be abreast of citizens needs to inform meaningful engagement for appropriate response. He said, the ISCCS would ensure a proactive and strategic approach with greater prospects to address the inter-service dimensions of service delivery. He urged the participants to pass on the knowledge acquired to colleague staff at all levels.
Workshop presentations hinged on the legislative and policy provisions for ISCCS with the call for a clear vision for the implementation of ISCCS by some stakeholders. The question and answer forum helped to clarify how collaboration can be effectively achieved among stakeholders.
