OHLGS HOLDS ORIENTATION FOR 2021/2022 COHORT OF NATIONAL SERVICE PERSONNEL

Accra-Tuesday November 9, 2021: The Office of the Head of the Local Government Service has organised an orientation for its 2021/2022 cohort of National Service Personnel (NSP). The orientation was to among other things formally usher them into the Service and enlighten them on the operations and mandate of the Service as well as work ethics.

The Head of Service, Ing. Dr Nana Ato Arthur officially welcomed them and encouraged them to be of good conduct and inspired them to work diligently. He asked them to see themselves as part of the Service and ensure strict adherence to the laid-down rules and regulations as stipulated in the Conditions of Service of the Local Government Service.  He entreated them to be punctual to work and ensure they exhibit the highest standards of professionalism in the discharge of their duties.

To ensure the NSP better appreciate the functions of the Service, Dr. Arthur said, they would be rotated quarterly to work with the various directorates and units in the Service.

Among the areas covered at the programme included Decentralisation and Local Governance; Strategic Direction of the Service; Code of Ethics of the LGS as well as a brief on the National Service Scheme. Officers from the various Directorates and Units took turns to sensitise the personnel on the functions of their respective Directorates and Units.
