OHLGS – TUESDAY APRIL 24, 2018: The Head of the Local Government Service, Dr Nana Ato Arthur met a delegation from the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) for deliberation during which two of JICA’s volunteers to the Shama District and Agona West Municipal Assemblies were introduced.
The volunteers will be in Ghana for a period of two years and will be offering community development services in the selected Assemblies. In the Shama District Assembly, the support will focus on plastic waste recycling; while women groups in the Agona West Municipal Assembly will be assisted in Palm Kernel production.
Dr Arthur was thankful to the Government and People of Japan for the support and pledged the continual collaboration of the Local Government Service (LGS). He added that, the Service would give the volunteers the required support to enable them discharge their duties creditably.
The volunteers were appreciative of the warm reception accorded them by the LGS and promised to give of their best in their respective Assemblies.
