OHLGS STAFF TRAINED ON RECORDS MANAGEMENT

ACCRA – Tuesday March 2, 2021: The Office of the Head of the Local Government Service (OHLGS) has organised a one-day orientation programme for selected staff on records management. The training was organised at the instance of the Head of Service, Ing. Dr Nana Ato Arthur as part of efforts to improve records management to ease information storage and retrieval.

The Director of Administration at the OHLGS, Mrs. Golda Asante who delivered the training highlighted the standard protocols and requirements for proper records management. She also shed light on the roles and responsibilities of records and action officers.

Few of the issues that came up for discussion in line with current trends included digitization of the records office, procurement of modern equipment and the need to redesign institutional filing system.

The Chief Director, Mr James Oppong-Mensah emphasized the importance of good records management and entreated participants to adhere to the standard practices laid out for effective records management and administration.
