Akumandan – Wednesday February 10, 2021: The Head of Service, Ing. Dr. Nana Ato Arthur led a team from the Office of the Head of Local Government Service (OHLGS) to inspect works on the LGS conference and human resource development centre at Akumadan, capital of the Offinso North District. The team included the Chief Director, Mr. James Oppong-Mensah; the Director for Management and Technical Services, Mrs. Lilian Baeka; and other Senior Staff.
The first phase of the project includes a 5No. 9-bedroom executive guest blocks, a conference hall, an administration block, a 600-seater capacity auditorium, a 60-bedroom hostel block and a kitchen. The first phase of the project is expected to be completed by July, 2021.
The inspection was preceded by a courtesy call on the District Chief Executive (DCE), Hon. David Akwasi Asare. Dr. Arthur expressed the delight and appreciation of the Service to the MCE and his staff for their immense support in the form of constant monitoring of the progress of work. The Head of Service was hopeful that the project will create jobs and other opportunities for the people of the District.
The DCE indicated that the project is of great interest to the Assembly and the District as a whole as it has the potential to contribute to the local economic development of the area. The Chief Executive and his team made up of the Coordinating Director, Madam Victoria A. A. Adomako and other officers joined the Head of Service’s team for the site inspection.
This project is funded under the District Assemblies Common Fund (DACF).
