The Office of the Head of the Local Government Service (OHLGS) wishes to inform all Regional Coordinating Councils (RCCs) and eligible officers that, in line with the decision of the 5th Local Government Service Council (LGSC) at its Second Meeting held on 10th December 2021, the promotion of officers from the grade of Assistant Director I and its analogous grades to Deputy Director and its analogous grades shall, effective March 2022, be centrally coordinated by the OHLGS.

This decision aims to promote quality assurance, standardization, and uniformity in all promotion processes across the Local Government Service.

Approval has been granted for the OHLGS to conduct promotion interviews for eligible officers who have duly met the required promotion guidelines across the various classes within the sixteen Regional Coordinating Councils. The interviews are scheduled to begin on Tuesday, 17th February 2026 and will be carried out based on the approved zonal arrangements.

All RCCs are reminded to give adequate notice regarding the date, time, and venue of the interviews to ensure the participation of representatives from the OHLGS.
