HEAD OF SERVICE ATTENDS CIAMC PROFESSIONAL CONFERENCE

Accra – July 27, 2021: The Head of the Local Government Service, Ing. Dr. Nana Ato Arthur attended the Administrators Professionals Conference organized by the Chartered Institute of Administrators and Management Consultants’ (CIAMC) at the National Council for Tertiary Education Conference Hall. The conference, which was themed “Health, Wellbeing and Productivity in the workplace”, brought together professionals in the fields of administration and management as well as experts from various institutions who contributed to the conference deliberations.

Launching of the administrator’s excellence award, Dr. Nana Ato Arthur who is also a fellow of CIAMC stated that, administrative professionals contribute significantly to the achievement of organizational goals and objectives. He added that the existence of a strong corporate performance standards provides the vehicle through which the organization grows. He reiterated that without seasoned and high performing administrators, an organization’s performance standards will only remain a dream, the status of the organization notwithstanding. He indicated that it is therefore necessary to recognize and award administrative professionals who distinguish and excel in their careers.

The conference was addressed by a number of seasoned professionals both from the public services and academia. They included the Director General of the Ghana Health Service, Dr. Patrick Kuma-Aboagye who spoke on the conference theme. Professor Kwesi Amponsah-Tawiah, a psychologist and human resource specialist of the University of Ghana also presented on the topic “Mental wellbeing and workplace productivity”. The Registrar of the University of Health and Allied Sciences, Dr. Cynthia Sena Kpeglo also presented on the topic “Office Management and Workplace Productivity”. An open forum followed the presentations during which questions and comments of the participants were addressed.

CIAMC was registered as a professional body in 2004 with the vision to lead institution in Africa. It aims to advance and ensure professionalism in the practice of administration and management consultancy through certification and life long learning.
