ACCRA-Friday December 20, 2019: The Head of the Local Government Service, Ing. Dr Nana Ato Arthur attended an Annual Thanksgiving Service organised by the Civil and Local Government Staff Association of Ghana (CLOGSAG) at the Nathan Quao Auditorium in Accra in appreciation of God’s goodness and the successes chalked by the Association in the year 2019. The thanksgiving brought together government officials from the Civil and Local Government Service as well as a cross section of its members.
The Head of the Local Government Service, Ing. Dr Nana Ato Arthur lauded the strides made by the Association to secure improvement in the service conditions and welfare of its Members. He noted that the Local Government Service recognises the contributions of the association and pledged the Service’s continuous support.
The Head of the Civil Service, Nana Agyekum Dwamena also acknowledged the invaluable contributions of public servants in ensuring effective and efficient service delivery to the citizenry. He entreated members of the association to make judicious use of the state resources at their disposal and remain politically neutral in the discharge of their duties.
The Executive Secretary of the Association, Mr Isaac Bampoe Addo, reiterated the association’s commitment to ensure the full implementation of the TIER 2 Occupational Pension Scheme in January, 2019. He called on members of the association to adhere to the ruling of the Supreme Court with regards to the non-involvement of Civil and Local Government staff in active partisan politics.
