HEAD OF SERVICE CAUTIONS STAFF OF OFFINSO MUNICIPAL ASSEMBLY ON INDISCIPLINE TOWARDS WORK

WednesdayMay 3, : The Head of the Local Government Service, Ing. Dr. Nana Ato Arthur has cautioned staff of the Offinso Municipal Assembly on the rampant indiscipline towards work.  The admonishing was madeduring one of his unannounced working visits to the Assembly.

The Head of Service with a Public Affairs Officer of the Office of the Head of the Local Service (OHLGS) were received by the Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Kingsley Owusu-Appiah, some Management team members, and staff of the Assembly upon arrival.

In a short remark, the Head of Service described the conduct of staff of the Assembly towards work as appalling and emphasised that such indiscipline is frowned upon in the Service. According to the Head of Service, one cardinal value the LGS demands from staff is high work ethics. He called on staff to demonstrate dedication and commitment to produce quality results for improved service delivery. He said staff who remain adamant in complying with the codes of ethics and conduct of the Service would be sanctioned accordinglyas deterrent to others.

The Head of Service used the platform to entreat the staff of Offinso Municipal and all other LGS staff across the country to translate the knowledge they have acquired through schooland in the Service into producing quality services as expected and increase productivity to achieve set goals of the Assemblies. 

Speaking to the issues raised by Dr. Arthur, Hon. Owusu Appiah assured that Management of the Assembly would devise all necessary measures to regulate indiscipline among staff of the assembly in consonance with the reputation of the Service. He revealed that staff indiscipline remained a challenge in the Assembly for which Management was harnessing all possible means to resolve.

He was grateful to the Head of Service for the visit and believed it would encourage staff to turn over new leaves.
