OHLGS HIGH REFRESHER WORKSHOP ENDS IN ELMINA

Elmina- Friday, July 8, 2022: The office of the Head of the Local Government Service has ended the second in a series of refresher training for some Senior Staff of Local Government Service in Elmina with the objective to enhance their capacity for the implementation of government policies and programmes.

The first phase of the one-week-long training was held at Ejisu in the Ashanti Region from Monday, July 4 – Wednesday, July 6, 2022.

The training discussed topics such as Public Financial Management; Public Procurement; Overview of Public Administration; and Workplace & Health Management. The discussions gave the officers the leverage to discuss their professional experiences for feedback. The officers were counseled to establish a healthy working environment that can lessen problems that exacerbate work challenges and stress.

The Head of the Local Government Service, Ing. Dr. Nana Ato Arthur admonished the officers to discharge their duties in line with the 1992 Constitution and other legislation.  He also advised them to ensure ample consultation with stakeholders to effectively perform their duties.

Present at the training were the Chief Director of OHLGS, the Coordinating Director for Central Region Coordinating Council, Mr. Kingsley Adjei Boahen, and some Academia.
