A Peer Learning workshop has been organised for Coordinating Directors and Focal Persons involved in the implementation of the Local Government Capacity Support Project (LGCSP) in the Northern and Southern Sectors. The workshop was organised by the Local Government Service with support from the World Bank. It was held between 13th and 17th of February 2017. It brought together key stakeholders in the LGCSP to share experiences, lessons learnt and brainstormed on how to implement and develop common strategies for the sustainability and successful completion of the project in 2018.
The workshop was facilitated by officers of the OHLGS. Workshop highlights included presentations on the five (5) Public Financial Management (PFM) areas under the project, support to FOAT assessment and the Capacity Support Fund (CSF). The brainstorming sessions brought to the fore challenges in the implementation of the project at the Assembly level and discussed recommendations to address them. Selected MMAs took turns to brief participants on project activities, observations, concerns and lessons.
Participants appreciated the opportunity provided and assured organisers of the workshop that the knowledge acquired will be used to enhance project implementation.
