PRESS RELEASE: LOCAL GOVERNMENT SERVICE HAS NOT ISSUED FRESH RECRUITMENT ADVERTS

ACCRA – August 14, 2019: The attention of the Head of the Local Government Service has been drawn to a publication being circulated on social media and other online portals including jobwebghana.com that the Local Government Service (LGS) is inviting applications from suitably qualified Ghanaians to fill vacant positions in the Service in some specified Regions“.

The Office of the Head of Local Government Service wishes to inform the general public that, the LGS is not the author of the said information and urges all to disregard it. The Service is just about to conclude a process it begun in February 2019 to engage two thousand two hundred and ninety (2,290) additional staff, as such it has not issued fresh recruitment adverts.

The Service wishes to assure the general public that when such opportunities turn up, due processes and procedures will be followed and the general public will be informed through the appropriate channels.

The Local Government Service (LGS) is a Public Service Institution with the mandate to secure the effective administrative and management of decentralised local government system in the country. The LGS is made up of the Office of the Head of the Local Government Service (OHLGS), the Regional Co-ordinating Councils (RCCs), Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies (MMDAs) and their Sub-Structures.
