The Office of the Head of the Local Government Service (OHLGS) organised an orientation programme for its 2022/2023 group of National Service Personnel (NSPs).
The orientation which was facilitated by two Senior Officers was to among other things formerly usher the NSPs into the Service and to enlighten them on the operations and mandate of the Service.
The Senior Officers welcomed the NSPs and encouraged them to see themselves as part of the Service and ensure they adhere to the laid down rules and regulations of the Service.
Additionally, they were urged to dedicate their efforts into working diligently and exhibit the spirit of discipline as well as professionalism in the discharge of their duties.
Topics treated at the orientation programme included Decentralisation, Governance, Local Government, Legal and Policy Frameworks from which the NSPs drew some knowledge from in readiness for work.
To ensure the NSPs better appreciate the functions of the Service, they were informed management would schedule their duties on rotation with the various Directorates and Units during their time with the OHLGS.
