OHLGS ORIENTS NEW ENTRANTS

Wednesday, January 11, 2023: The Office of the Head of the Local Government Service (OHLGS) has oriented its first set of new entrants and staff posted from other Metropolitan, Municipal District Assemblies (MMDAs) into the Local Government Service (LGS).

The one-day orientation programme which was held at the conference room of the OHLGS was to sensitise the new staff on the mandate of the Service and the laid down protocols in the Service.

The orientation programme was opened on behalf of the Head of Service, Ing. Dr. Nana Ato Arthur by the Director of Administration of the OHLGS Ms. Golda Asante, she said the orientation programme was organized to build the human capacity of the recruited staff with the required skills and knowledge as which is a precursor for improved service delivery in the Local Government Service.

She said the facilitators who have been selected for the orientation programme were experts in the field of Local Governance and Decentralisation and urged staff to give them their maximum corporation for deeper understanding.

The programme treated topics such as the Decentralisation, Local Government System, Protocols, Structures, and the functions of the LGS.

Discussions at the programme gave the newly recruited staff the platform to ask questions and seek clarification on issues of concern for deeper understanding of the rudiments in the Service.
