OHLGS – MONDAY, 3RD APRIL, 2017 (10:00 am): The new Head of the Local Government Service, Dr. Nana Ato Arthur met Directors and Heads of Units of the Office of the Head of Local Government Service (OHLGS) to officially familiarise himself with Management and to be briefed on the programmes and activities being undertaken by the various Directorates and Units.
Dr. Arthur assured Directors and Heads of Units of his intention to continue with his predecessor’s initiatives and where necessary review what ought to be reviewed. He said, his aim is to build trust and to have the total co-operation of the entire Service. He indicated that his next line of activities is to meet with stakeholders of the Service to outline his vision for them to appreciate what he brings on board.
Directors and Heads of Units took turns to brief Dr. Arthur on their respective outfits comprising core functions, achievements and challenges faced by Directorates and Units. Dr. Arthur expressed satisfaction with the briefs and said he will call for more details when necessary.
Dr. Arthur assured the Directors and Heads of Units that he will lend his unalloyed support to Management and staff of the Service to address these challenges for the delivery of the Service’s mandate. He stressed that time management will be a critical component of his administration.
