EFFECTIVE PROJECT COORDINATION IS CRUCIAL FOR SUCCESSFUL PROJECT EXECUTION – DR. NANA ATO ARTHUR

Accra – Tuesday, 25th June, 2024: The Head of the Local Government Service, Ing. Dr. Nana Ato Arthur has advocated for policy coordination and the building of synergies for job creation by targeting the youth in agriculture and agribusiness through effective project coordination.

He made this call at the AGRA/NDPC Inter-Ministerial, Multisectoral Steering Committee inception meeting at the Lancaster Hotel in Accra. The purpose of the meeting was to establish the Inter-Ministerial/Multisectoral Coordinating Steering Committee, which included the review of the Terms of Reference as well as the Outcomes and the Deliverables.

Dr. Nana Ato Arthur emphasized the importance of project coordination, stating that it remains critical in the project execution process as it reduces waste, minimizes task duplication, improves productivity, meets deadlines, achieves unity of action, harmonizes diverse elements, and enhances team communication.

He concluded that coordination unites group efforts, ensures simultaneous activity execution, and is a continuous task. This, he said, contributes to the achievement of the project’s goals.

The National Steering Committee is tasked to coordinate efforts of stakeholders to address the challenge of youth unemployment by promoting youth involvement in agriculture and agribusiness. It is aimed to enhance effective collaboration among key government ministries and relevant stakeholders.
