Accra – Wednesday, December 29, 2021: The Head of Service, Ing. Dr Nana Ato Arthur received the executives of the Ghana Institute of Planners who paid a courtesy call on him at his office in Accra to discuss some concerns.
The delegation was led by the President of the Institute, Mr. Mohammed Alhassan Damba who was accompanied by the Secretary, Mr. Kenneth Yaoh Ketor. Some of the issues discussed with the Head of Service included the ongoing reform by the Institute to develop an assessment criteria for the determination of the capacity of planning officers; the creation of a sub professional class for lower grade planning officers currently working under the Physical Planning Class; partnership for the continuous professional development of Planning Officers; and the criteria for the recruitment and selection of Planning Officers.
The Head of Service was delighted about the fruitful engagement. He noted that arrangements are underway to provide orientation training to all new entrants and efforts would be made to bring the relevant professional bodies on board.
Also present at the meeting was the Director for Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation (PME) at the Office of the Head of Local Government Service (OHLGS), Mr. George Ackah.
