LGSS Makes Effort to Improve Client Service

The Head of the Local Government Service, Dr. Callistus Mahama, has taken steps to introduce an electronic system to improve upon client service at the Secretariat. The system consists of a bulk-SMS platform which instantly forwards messages to institutions and individuals who provide their mobile phone numbers on their correspondences to ensure efficient and effective handling.

The initiative is part of measures aimed to boost client confidence in the operations the Local Government Service Secretariat (LGSS) in the delivery of its mandate. The system will ensure that clients are promptly notified on the receipt and dispatch of correspondences.

The Head of Service believes that with this, challenges associated with the handling of correspondences will be reduced to the barest minimum. Indeed, the situation where individuals and representatives of institutions would have to be present at the Secretariat to follow up on correspondences will also be avoided. The Secretariat trusts that the new system will aid the delivery of its mandate to the delight of its cherished clients.
