Accra – Tuesday July 23, 2019: The Chairman of the Local Government Service Council and first Head of the Local Government Service, Nana Rex Owusu-Ansah has been honoured at the 2nd Edition of the Nathan Quao Annual Awards held in Accra.

Other key officers of the Service also honoured were the Chief Director of the Northern Regional Co-ordinating Council, Alhaji Alhassan Issahaku and the Director for Internal Audit at the Office of the Head of the Local Government Service, Mr. Thomas Addoquaye Allotey. The award was in recognition of their exemplary leadership and dedication to service. The three were among eleven (11) other public servants who received various categories of awards for outstanding performance in their respective fields.

The Nathan Quao Annual Awards was instituted by the Civil and Local Government Staff Association, Ghana (CLOGSAG) to honour public officers and retirees who distinguish themselves in the discharge of their duties.

The awards also take into account, exhibition of the Public Service values and principles of leadership, integrity, professionalism, loyalty and selflessness.
