The attention of the Office of the Head of the Local Government Service (OHLGS) has been drawn to a false and fraudulent recruitment publication circulating on Facebook.
The post, made by a Facebook page called “All Teacher Unions updates” and attributed to one “Isaac Joe Mensah, a purported Protocol Officer of the Head of Local Government Accra” with phone number 055-211-79-79 is FAKE and has NO connection whatsoever with the Local Government Service (LGS).
The post claims to offer “immediate appointment in the Local Government Service” and uses the LGS logo and a forged letter to deceive unsuspecting members of the public.
OHLGS wishes to state categorically that:
- The LGS is NOT recruiting currently. Any recruitment exercise will be officially announced on the official LGS website: lgs.gov.gh and verified social media pages.
- The LGS does NOT charge any fee, nor use individuals, agents or “protocol officers” to recruit staff. Appointments into the Service are done through a transparent and merit-based process.
- There is NO entity by the name “Local Government Accra”. The correct name of the institution is the Office of the Head of the Local Government Service (OHLGS).
- The name Isaac Joe Mensah, phone number +233552117979 and the said Facebook page are NOT affiliated with the OHLGS. The public is advised to disregard it.
- The document in circulation is forged. The public should not make any payment or share personal information with the fraudster(s).

The OHLGS is working with the relevant security agencies to investigate and bring the perpetrator(s) to book.
