Accra – Wednesday November 15,2023: The Office of the Head of Local Government (OHLGS) Service has orientated its cohorts of National Service Personnel (NSP). The orientation which is an activity of the OHLGS is to usher the NSP and enlighten them about the mandate of the Local Government Service (LGS).
The Director Administration, Miss Golda Asante indicated that the orientation is to amongst others to introduce them to the conditions in which the Service operates. She urged the NSP to give their maximum corporation to the facilitators on the topics to be treated for deeper understanding.
Presentations treated at the orientation programme by senior officers were topics on Decentralization, Local Government Systems, the National Service Scheme Act 1988 Section (Act 426), Protocols, Structures and Functions of the LGS.
The mode of engagement was an interactive one which gave the NSP the opportunity to ask questions and seek clarification on the topics treated for deeper understanding about the rudiments of the Service.
The NSP were also informed that to better appreciate the functions of the Service, Management would schedule their duties on rotation with the various Directorates and Units during their time with the OHLGS.
