Wednesday January 24, 2023: The Office of the Head of the Local Government Service (OHLGS) has oriented newly recruited staff and staff posted from other Metropolitan, Municipal District Assemblies (MMDAs) to the OHLGS.
In an opening remark, the Director of Administration, Ms. Golda Asante, on behalf of the Head of Service, Ing. Dr. Nana Ato Arthur said the orientation programme was organised to build the human capacity of the recruited staff with the required skills and knowledge as a precursor for improved service delivery in the Local Government Service.
She revealed that the topics selected for the orientation would provide insight into the Service and encouraged participants to ask questions and seek clarification on issues of concern for deeper understanding of the rudiments in the Service.
The one-day orientation programme took participants through presentations on topics such as Decentralisation, Local Government System, Protocols, Structures, and the functions of the LGS. This was to sensitise the newly recruits on the mandate of the Service and the laid down protocols in the Service as well as enlighten staff posted from other MMDAs on the operations of the OHLGS.
The programme was organised in the conference room of the OHLGS.
