OHLGS RETOOLS ITS SECURITY UNIT

ACCRA – Tuesday March 15, 2022: The Office of the Head of the Local Government Service (OHLGS) has presented logistics and uniforms to its Security Officers as part of initiatives being taken by the OHLGS to ensure the professionalism as well as effective and efficient performance of work.

Presenting the items, the Head of Service, Ing. Dr. Nana Ato Arthur described the measures being pursued as rebranding the Security Unit and providing means of easy identification for the Security Officers.  He appreciated the tireless and diligent efforts of the Officers in the performance of their roles and urged them to strive towards excellence.

The Head of Service underscored the need for the Officers to be at post at all times and to ensure the orderly movement of visitors in and out of the premises during working hours and off work periods.

Key among the concerns raised by the Security Officers during the open forum included the need to augment the number of Security Officers; mount a small security post behind its office; and the provision of additional logistics such as pepper spray to aid the conduct of work.

Present at the presentation ceremony were the Director of Administration, Ms. Golda Grace Asante, and some senior officers of the OHLGS.
