OHLGS – FRIDAY APRIL 20, 2018: The Head of the Local Government Service, Dr. Nana Ato Arthur received a World Bank delegation led by Martin Onyach-Olaa (a Senior Urban Specialist), who officially briefed him and Management on the proposed Ghana Secondary Cities Support Project (GSCSP).
The project is a follow-up to the Local Government Capacity Support Project (LGCSP) and will span a period of five years, starting 2019. The GSCSP seeks to improve urban governance through the delivery of urban services by participating Municipal Assemblies.
As part of the programme, the Office of the Head of the Local Government Service (OHLGS) is expected to ensure the availability of critical staff at all levels of the Service especially the regional and district levels. The OHLGS is also to facilitate the capacity building of both the demand and supply sides for improved accountability.
Dr Arthur lauded the partnership between the two institutions and said the Service looked forward to a more sustainable collaboration.
